But today was a much busier Sunday than usual. After church, Sarah, Charity, and I had a delicious homemade lunch at the Betzers' flat. Then I headed over to the baby room for some quality time with my little "Hannah" (not her real name). I ended up taking her for a walk, giving her a bottle, and rocking her for a while.
At 2pm, we drove out to the Kgaswane Mountain Reserve in Rustenburg to see if we could spot any animals. It was Janis and David (the experts on animal-spotting), their daughter Hope, Sarah, Charity, and me. The animals we did see were much further from the road than they were the day I went hiking there with Angela and Taya. Fortunately, we were equipped with binoculars and were able to see sable, zebras, and hartebees in the distance. We also had to stop the car when several impala (or antelope) ran across the road. I still can't believe how beautiful the animals are here!

Shortly arrived back at the entrance, we decided to get out and take a walk through the brush down to a creek. It was an interesting walk since only David and Hope were wearing appropriate hiking shoes, but we all made it okay. All of us girls climbed out onto a huge rock in the middle of the creek to have our picture taken.
After leaving the reserve, we stopped at the mall to get some ice cream. While we were there, we ran into Derek and Rebecca (the directors of YWAM Rustenburg) and their 3 kids. They had just gone to see Wall-E at the movie theater and stopped to chat for a few minutes.
Back at Lighthouse, I made some vegetable samosas (pronounced sah-moose-ah) for dinner. I had tried some a few weeks ago when I was out with Lorinda and decided to buy some from the store the last time I was there. They were pretty good considering how challenged I am at using the stove. :)
Tonight David fixed us up with a DVD player in our flat so that we could watch the movie The Power of One. The movie is about the beginning of apartheid in South Africa and about one young man's brave attempts to defeat injustice. It was really powerful and also really sad. If you want to better understand the dark times South Africa has experienced in the not-so-distant past, I definitely encourage you to rent this movie.
